Last Friday evening (19 March) Br Albino Dos Santos joined 400 other students of the University of Divinity, Melbourne, for the Graduation Ceremony during which he received the degree of Bachelor of Theology. Having studied Philosophy for 3 years in Timor, Albino came to Australia in 2016. Completing his English studies in 2017 he began the Bachelor of Theology Degree which he completed at the end of 2020. Albino is now studying for the Master of Theological Studies degree. The first reading this Sunday tells us that our journey to transfiguration happens from within, by our hearts being changed. The prophet Jeremiah looks forward to a new covenant between God and his people. This covenant will not be written in stone, but in human hearts. This new covenant cannot be broken since God always forgives and never remembers our sins. Read more

The Carmelites of Australia & Timor-Leste joyfully announce that Br Matthew Tonini will be ordained Priest and Br Agedo Bento will be ordained Deacon on Saturday 17 April at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Middle Park (Vic). Archbishop Peter Comensoli will ordain them during Mass at 6.00pm. Br Matthew will celebrate his Mass of Thanksgiving in the same Church the next day at 10.30am. More story
In the last year there has been plenty of darkness around us. But there have also been many moments when light shone through human beings doing concrete good deeds for others. Our Lenten journey is rebuilding us into the living Body of Christ, into dwelling places for God and meeting places between human beings and God. This is clearly seen when human needs meet God’s compassion through us. That’s when God’s love and light shine in the darkness of human lives. Read more
